Spring at Mayfield GardenSpring at Mayfield Garden

Oberon is worth a visit, if only just to see its magnificent gardens.

Each spring the town is covered in thousands of daffodils and flowers, and the Oberon and Villages Festival of Spring Gardens celebrates the season of blooms. During this festival, as well as many other events, including fairs, markets, concerts at Jenolan Caves and flower shows, many unique and passionate local gardeners open their garden gate to the public to have a wander through. Here you can visit impressive private cool climate gardens and learn more about their journey from the gardeners who tend them. For more information visit Oberon Festivals >>

During the spring, it is a perfect time to visit Falkirk Farm. Here in the beautiful Falkirk garden there are over 2500 different kinds of daffodils, as well as many flowering shrubs, trees and conifers. This incredible two and a half acre garden is open during selected weekends throughout spring. There are also 80 varieties of potted daffodils for sale. There is high tea and morning and afternoon tea available, as well as some friendly farm animals to meet. Large coaches and group packages welcome. For more information visit Falkirk Farm

Perhaps Oberon’s most famous garden is the mind-boggling Mayfield Garden. This magnificent garden, only 13 kilometres from Oberon, is the largest cool climate garden in the world and is truly a must see during its open weekends in spring and autumn. The garden is beautifully designed with manicured lawns, and with formal and informal sections including a rose walk, a rhododendron walk, a maze, a croquet lawn, parterre garden, an ornamental bird aviary, conservatorium, orchard, vegetable garden, water garden, obelisk, chapel and many more treasures at every turn.

As a private garden Mayfield Garden is open for three weekends in Autumn and three weekends in Spring.

Group bookings dates are available by appointment.
