Dedication Day Crossing of the Great Divide

Details:
George W Evans, surveyor, explorer, artist, draftsman, with a party of five, was the first European to cross the Great Dividing Range, NSW on November 30 1813. The site is marked on the Hampton Road near Rydal, NSW.

A new Interpretive Sign acknowledging this achievement will be dedicated on Saturday November 25 at 10.30am.

Location: The Evans Crossing Monument on Antonio Reserve next to 1202 Hampton Road - 16 klms from Great Western Highway Lithgow, turn off at Magpie Hollow Road OR 12 klms from Hampton Halfway Hotel.

Guest Speaker is Paul Brunton OAM FAHA Emeritus Curator of the State Library of NSW. Morning Tea (optional - bookings essential) at Bark Ridge 707 Hampton Road with gold coin donation.
