Health

For a small country town, Oberon has quite an extensive range of essential health services for you and your family.

The Oberon Health Service is a multi-purpose service, which was officially opened by the Hon. Craig Knowles in April 2000.

The health service is located on two sites. The main site, the Oberon Hospital, houses acute services, high level residential aged care services, community health service, radiology, a very busy emergency service, and the wonderful Robey Independent Living Centre, which provides aged day care two days a week, and Meals on Wheels. The Robey Centre is a place where local elderly can visit, have a chat, a cup of coffee, a meal and of course games of bingo, and also go on regular day trips and outings.

Hathaway Cottages, located three blocks from the hospital, houses 12 low level residential aged care beds. Columbia Aged Care Services, Oberon Village in Oberon is a fully accredited nursing home that has been purpose built to suit the needs of the Oberon and neighbouring communities for their aged care residential services

Some other services that are available through the Health Service are audiometry, a dietician, mental health, a women’s health service, a foot clinic, physiotherapy, a social worker, speech pathology and many other services.

Oberon also has its very own modern medical centre housing a number of local doctors and its own ambulance service.

Bathurst Base Hospital is also very close by for services such as maternity.

Oberon also has its own dentist.
