Blue Green Algae Red Alert at Lake Lyell
Following the recent warmer weather and lack of rain, the latest results issued by the NSW Office of Water have indicated that Blue Green Algae levels have risen at Lake Lyell. Consequently, a Red Alert has been put in place.
A Red Alert at Lake Lyell means that it is currently not suitable for any activities that involve direct contact with the water by humans or pets and livestock.
Weekly sampling of the Lake will continue and an updated alert status will be reported if the situation improves.
Information on algae alerts is available from the algal information line maintained by the NSW Office of Water, at 1800 999 457 or the NSW Office of Water web page at www.water.nsw.gov.au
