Mayfield Garden

Mayfield Garden near Oberon began to take shape in the mid-1990’s and today is one of the world’s largest privately owned cool climate gardens. Owned by the Hawkins family, Mayfield Garden extends across more than 160 acres (64H) and sits within a 5,000 acre working farm.

Mayfield Garden is open to visitors year-round and includes a Cafe & Produce Store serving a garden & paddock to plate menu and a well-stocked cool climate nursery.

Open: Daily 9am – 4.30pm (last entry at 3pm). 

Mayfield Garden currently extends over 36 acres and includes a water and stone feature garden, blue-stone bridge, iron and stone arbour, a copper tree fountain, obelisk pond and allee of London Plane trees, Valley of the Five Ponds, Venus Vale, The Gallery and much more. This cool climate garden is amazing in all seasons from the water lillies in bloom in Summer, the colourful foliage of Autumn, the raw structure of trees on show in wintertime and the lush growth and heady scents of Spring. During Private Garden Seasonal Festivals Mayfield Garden is included in the ticket price and not sold separately.

Summer Festival - The festival brings a sense of occasion and delight with Mayfield row boats now available to the public on Mayfield Lake, the Lolly Bug on weekends, the Café serving a garden and paddock to plate menu and discover parts of the Private Garden beyond Mayfield Garden. Features include: the Rose Garden, Creek Garden and Mayfield Lake. This SUMMER bring your family and friends and enjoy a long, leisurely day and view vibrant summer colours, roses in bloom and lush green growth in this spectacular garden.

Autumn Festival - Come and discover the expansive Private Garden at Mayfield Garden – over 160acres (64H) of manicured garden stretching across the hillside. Features include: the Birch Grove, Rose Garden, Creek Garden, Mayfield Cascade (80m cascade with temple source), aviary, walled kitchen garden and more.

Winter Festival - Mayfield Garden has been designed to make the best of all seasons. Take a full day to wander the garden and see the raw structure of trees on show in wintertime and experience our activities including a 200-metre toboggan ride down the Ally of Plain trees and lots of delicious catering to keep you warm and festive.
