1. The Caves
Delve into the mysterious underground at Jenolan Caves. Here you can explore the cool and magical wonderland far beneath the soil during exciting show tours of these magnificent limestone wonders as well as getting your blood pumping with adventure caving. After a thrilling day of caving at Jenolan Caves, you can enjoy fine dining at Chisolm’s Restaurant and rest your head at the majestic Jenolan Caves House.

2. Kanangra-Boyd National Park
If the view of endless blue bushland and soaring golden cliff faces sounds good, you must visit Kanangra Walls. These towering walls sit commandingly watching over the 68,000 hectares in Kanangra-Boyd National Park. Sit at the top of the cliff and look down as the mesmerising escarpments and valley spiral away below you.

3. The Pine Forests and Mushrooming
It’s autumn and you won’t be able to resist slipping away into one of the local pine forests and collecting some very tasty delicacies for dinner. Mushrooming is a very popular pastime in Oberon, with the forest floor literally dotted with mushrooms. Delicious Slippery Jack and Saffron Milk Cap mushrooms are there for the picking but make sure you hurry!
4. Truffle Hunting
Have you even been truffle hunting? If not, you are in for a treat! Truffles are a very peculiar culinary delight which grow in the soil under trees at the Lowes Mount Truffiere, and you can accompany a specially trained truffle hunting dog each winter on your search for these fickle little black bundles. You can also try some truffle infused products while you are at it and see what all the fuss is all about.
5. Mayfield Garden
If you think you have seen gardens, think again. Mayfield Garden is like nothing you have ever seen before. This truly remarkable garden stretches over hundreds of acres and has a number of amazing features, including a croquet lawn, the water garden and obelisk.
6. Seasonal Festivals
Oberon celebrates its gorgeous seasons with fantastic festivals which have something for everyone. The Oberon and Villages Spring Garden Festival and the Oberon and Villages Summer Festival are chock-a-block full of events and celebrations in Oberon and its corral of villages, including country shows and fairs, open gardens, events and concerts at Jenolan Caves, and farmers markets. 7. Camping
There is nothing better than getting back to nature and no better place to do it than Oberon. During summer’s balmy evenings, take your tent and fishing rod and spend a night sleeping under the stars at one of the area’s beautiful river side camping spots.
8. Outdoor Activities
Oberon is an outdoor-lover’s paradise. With mountain biking, fishing, 4W driving, bushwalking, canyoning and so many more activities in Oberon’s beautiful outdoors, there is never a dull moment.
9. Oberon Farmers Markets
Oberon Community and Farmers' Markets is located at the Oberon Showground in Ross Street Oberon, New South Wales. We have a diverse range of stallholders selling locally grown fruit, vegetables, meat and eggs; locally made art, craft and specialty goods; vintage and second hand goods plus scrumptious food, great coffee and fabulous entertainment.
10. Fossicking
Oberon’s pretty rivers and creeks are the perfect place to try fossicking for precious stones. It is a fun activity for the family and you may even find some gold, sapphires, zircons, and occasionally diamonds and smokey quartz. There are some perfect designated fossicking spots in the area, but if you would like to give it a try before heading out on your own, drop into the Oberon Visitor Information Centre and have a practice at the Beginner’s Luck Fossicking Patch. Here you can refine your technique and get some handy tips from their friendly staff.
